Retired United Pentecostal Evangelistic Crusades Church (UPEC-K) Bishop Wilson Kigen has been hospitalised after a government vehicle rammed into a boda boda he was riding on near Eldama Ravine Police Station in Baringo County on Monday evening.

Mr Kigen, who suffered a hip dislocation following the 5:30pm accident on Maji Mazuri-Makutano road, was rushed to Eldama Ravine Nursing Home for emergency treatment before being transferred to a hospital in Eldoret for advanced medical care.

According to Mr Kigen, the vehicle which hit him and the boda boda rider, George Kimangeno, belongs to the forestry department.

Mr Kimangeno, who sustained head injuries following the accident, was treated and discharged on Monday.

The government vehicle and the boda boda, which had been reduced to a mangled wreck, were towed to Eldama Ravine Police Station.

Mr Kigen says he had just arrived in the country from the United States of America (USA) on Saturday, November 11, and was scheduled to supervise an ongoing construction at the UPEC-K church in Eldama Ravine after a successful fundraiser held on Sunday, November 12.

According to a clinical officer who spoke to eDaily Monday, the bishop was in a stable condition when he was being transferred to an Eldoret hospital.
