Police are looking for a commercial sex worker, who, on Sunday night (November 3), fatally stabbed a middle-aged man in Kegati, Kisii Central Sub-County before taking off on a motorbike.
The horror attack occurred in the man’s house at 7:30pm.
The commercial sex worker reportedly reached for a kitchen knife and stabbed the man multiple times in the chest.
An eye witness, Lorna, said she heard a distress call emanating from the man’s house; and when she rushed there, he saw the father-of-one running out of the house, while carrying a blood-splattered shirt.
“He was screaming for help,” said Lorna.
The eye witness added that they rushed to the man’s house, and traced blood stains to his bedroom, where they found the kitchen knife, which had been used to kill the middle-aged man.
According to Lorna, the two had earlier used the kitchen knife to peel fruits.
The suspect, however, managed to escape on a boda boda during a commotion, which ensued when neighbours were flocking the scene of crime.
Good Samaritans rushed the man, who at the time was bleeding profusely, to a private hospital in Kisii Town, but he succumbed to haemorrhage due to the multiple stab wounds.
The deceased, who was a former employee at a leading soft drink manufacturing firm, reportedly separated from his wife. He was living with his son, who was not at home during the incident.
Confirming the incident, Kisii County OCPD Francis Nguli said an investigation has been launched into the middle-aged man’s death.
“We urge members of the public who have information that can help lead to the arrest of the suspect to share it with police so that we can apprehend, probe and charge her in court,” said Mr Nguli.
The Kegati man’s killing comes barely two weeks after another woman fatally stabbed her boyfriend at Mwembe Estate in Kisii Town.
