German football powerhouse Bayern Munich on Sunday, December 31 posted on its Facebook page an appreciation message to its Kenyan fans, saying: “Dear FC Bayern fans in Kenya, thank you very much for your great support in 2017. Asante.”

As expected, Kenyans in their thousands took to Bayern Munich’s Facebook post to post their appreciation for the recognition, though hilariously.

Japheth Davidson said: “Wow! I think this is the first football club in football history to appreciate its fans in Kenya, not even Tottenham Hotspur who have our captain as their player. Asanteni pia.”

Hempstone Kidiavai wrote: “How I wish a few of your players would switch nationality to Kenya and help us qualify for the World Cup in 2022 for the first time.”

Samson Chira posted: “Karibu sana Bayern Munich. This is the second time in this month (December, 2017) you are remembering us. That is so kind of you. I will start supporting you from next year (2018).”

Dennis Kirui said: “We appreciate your love, Bayern Munich. We hope to welcome you to Kenya. Tembea Kenya.”

Bosco Joseph said: “You always make our single bets go through.”

Patrick Muthiani said: “On behalf of Uhuru Kenyatta and all Kenyans, we wholeheartedly say: ‘You are welcome, big time.’”

Kevin Kadipo wrote: “FC Bayern loves Kenya so much yet its fans here are so few, if at all there are. Man United on the other hand doesn’t even know there is a country called Kenya yet we are nursing heartaches from their common draws.”

Dennis Ronoh posted: “Victor Wanyama should quickly cross over from Spurs to Bayern. That is how we do business in Kenya.”

Rogers Wayo said: “Bayern, employ one of our Kenyan brothers in that club. Then try to have mercy on Arsenal FC when playing against them.”

Michael Epale said: “Mmetuchomea mabet sana!”

Reinhard Myeuko wrote: “Hii official Facebook page nashuku it’s being managed by a certain Waiganjo in Kenya.”
