Ezekiel Mutua now takes comedian Mulamwah under his wings

Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Chief Executive Officer Ezekiel Mutua has now taken comedian Kendrick Mulamwah under his wings and vowed to support him in making a comeback.

This comes after Mulamwah had taken to social media to post a video of him burning the trademark shirt he wears in all his skits.

Mulamwah claimed he had decided to quit comedy following a barrage of backlash from Kenyan social media users about his craft.

He also narrated how he and his partner lost their baby due to the stress that came with the online backlash.

“Am sorry guys, what was to make me happy makes me more sad, more enemies than friends, too much negativity, trolls. I wasn’t here for fame and bad blood but for fun,” he wrote.

“Shukran sana kwa the support from the fans and everyone else who made it a success. To those who always wished the worst for me I hope y’all happy now, the stage is yours.”

Mr. Mutua has however since come out urging Mulamwah not to hang up his microphone just yet, further adding that he will also teach him how to handle online trolls and deal with cyber-bullying.

The KFCB boss, in a Twitter post, urged Mulamwah to “pick yourself up and give me a call.I will buy you a new shirt, mentor you and make you an ambassador of clean content.”

“Besides my desire to nurture his talent, I’ll help him know how to deal with cyber bullies – those mean guys with PhDs (pull him/her down). Shame them by excelling in your work.”
