Peter Mwanyalo popularly known by his stage name Peter Blessings has been released on KSh.200,000 cash bail following his arrest last week.
Blessings pleaded not guilty to obtaining money by false pretence.
In the court papers seen by eDaily, it is alleged that between July 4 and July 5, the budding musician obtained over KSh.2M from the Bahati-owned E.M.B records by pretending that he could produce music videos with the said label.
The papers futher allege that he disappeared before he could deliver the said videos, and sent the KSh.2M that had been spent on him down the drain.
He is also said to have refused to refund the money to E.M.B, orchestrating his arrest and arraignment in court.
On Wednesday, the musician in a video interview claimed that he had left the Bahati-owned label after his boss and a fellow artist insulted his mum.
He accused his former boss of cooking up allegations to have him charged- saying that he did not have the amount of money that the label was alleging.
His exit followed the exit of singer Mister Seed who fell out with Bahati in late 2019.
